Do you have a confession?

85970086Yesterday I had one of the best days I have had in San Francisco so far. I met a friend for a “church date” which led into lunch, then cruising in “Go Cars”. It was a blast!

During our many hours of touring the many distinctive neighborhoods, we chatted about our experiences in life and human behavior. He had worked for a time as a flight attendant, and shared a phenomenon that he had experienced over and over again. Complete strangers often share unsolicited, crazy stories about their lives, tales they wouldn’t dare tell a colleague, friend or family member.

I had travelled the world as a life coach for many years with Tony Robbins, and encountered the same phenomena. People would show up for their one-time coaching session with me and share intimate details that would be damaging to their lives if they were in the wrong hands.

It made me realize that as human beings, we all have a need to share, to confess to others things that we have done in our lives. I believe this is why life coaching is so important. Especially the way I work, over the phones. People are able to express what they have going on in their lives and receptive to advice, clarity and direction without having to confide in someone who may judge or hold things against them.

I feel that everyone needs a coach, someone that they can confide in and lead them in the right direction in life.
